About Us

The CPLCP™ Certification Board is an independent, non-profit entity that collaborates with the American Academy of Physician Life Care Planners for the purpose of advancing the discipline of life care planning through the certification of qualified physicians.

The CPLCP™ Certification Board governs the CPCLP™ certification program, and use of the CPLCP™ certification mark. The CPLCP™ Certification Board’s mandate includes, but is not limited to, providing oversight for the certification and recertification of CPLCP™ candidates, performing quality assurance of the CPLCP™ examination, enforcing certification holders’ compliance with requisite standards of practice, ethics and professional conduct, executing disciplinary actions, and ensuring executive compliance with organizational bylaws and guidelines.

The CPLCP™ Certification Board is comprised of up to seven (7) licensed physicians who are Board Certified in the field of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, who are Certified Life Care Planners (CLCP), and who have earned CPLCP™ Certification, as well as up to three (3) non-certified members with and interest in the discipline.
